Heated Stones Deep Tissue Massage At The St Albans Therapy Clinic

Hot stones massage therapy is another form of massage therapy and another treatment option on offer at the clinic. Long strokes and deep tissue release techinques are used with the heated stones to help reduce muscular knotts and improve joint mobility.

Heated, smooth, flat surfaced basalt stones are used throughout this type of massage as they retain heat and applied to specific muscle groups. The stones are heated to temperatures that the client can tolerate and can be massaged along the spinal muscles, buttocks, chest, legs, the palms, feet, hands and arms.

The application of hot stone massage techniques may involve long strokes, circular movements, vibrations, kneading and sliding on the skin.

Previous Research:
One study found that basalt hot‑stone massage therapy may help reduce sleep disturbances, improve quality of sleep and enhance comfort levels in patients on maintenance hemodialysis (Ghavami
et al., 2019). The study was conducted as many patients on maintenance hemodialysis experience sleep disorders.
